(More customer reviews)If you don't like the short length of the cable you can extend it by getting an extension cable. This is just a standard stereo cable but it works with the cable release. I bought this one: 12 foot 2.5mm extension cable and it works great. The male end doesn't "snap in" on the camera, but it isn't loose enough to fall out.
I've used the cable release with the extension a couple of times and it works great. I imagine you could probably chain them if you wanted to be really far from the camera, but I haven't tried it.
Overall, a great and useful tool.
